Heh guys, I was wondering if what I'm experiencing is a messed up stock clutch. I've beend driving with my s/c on the stock clutch since 21000 miles, and I'm now at 40,000. I don't drive too hard, not too many high rpm launches. Now though, at low rpms, specifically at 2000, when I slip the clutch and engage 1st or 2nd gear, right around 2000 rpm I hear this grinding noise. I only hear it in 1st and 2nd, but then again I don't ever shift into any other gears at that low of a engine speed. Wondering if I should be looking at a new clutch setup soon. Thanks.

I hardly if ever grind my gears. I remember hearing that the syncros were a weak part of the GSR tranny and that it goes bad in many cars. For those that have had this problem, how much did it cost to fix? Should I just go ahead and put in a new cluth too since I'll be diving into the tranny already? Thanks.

Stock clutch is probably ready to go after 19,000 supercharged miles.

My clutch just went out sunday after about 20k miles w/ the charger. My problem was not that it was slipping but rather I was having problems putting my car into any gear. The dampener in the stock disc had come apart and lodged the tranny. Kinda sucked because I was not expecting to spend 400 for a new clutch, but the tech at the dealership only charged me 125.00 to put it on for me. I am not a mechanic frown but kinda cool the cheap labor off set the cost of the clutch. I really didnt have time to wait for a mailed one. This is my daily driver and the price for a rental car would of made it the same price at the end. But I am really really satisfied w/ this new clutch it is the bomb! smile Now time to work work work!

My clutch is gone after 20K supercharged miles. New clutch goes in this weekend. Do you hear the grinding sound and feel it in the shift lever?

My clutch wasn't doing the grinding noise. Definitely a lot of slipping though, more and more every day.
